In honor of a great emperor

Since 1992, the company has awarded the “Montblanc de la Culture Arts Patronage” recognition. This year, the “Patron of Art” wanted to highlight the artistic and architectural achievements of Aztec culture. But above all, it honors one of its great rulers: Moctezuma I.

According to history, under the government of Emperor Montezuma I, the city of Tenochtitlan was the most advanced of its time. He is awarded with the construction of sculptures and botanical gardens in the city and the renovation of the Templo Mayor.

The Montblanc collection

This collection is made up of 4 limited editions. Each one was made at the Montblanc Artisan Atelier, with precious materials and by the hands of highly qualified master craftsmen. In the end, the result unites several important elements in the life of the Aztec emperor.

One of the editions is Patron of Art Homage to Moctezuma I, in which 4,810 copies were produced. This edition was inspired by a dart thrower (atlatl) that the emperor used as a weapon. The design highlights the colors and the fineness of the details, since it has an engraving of a quetzal feather.

There is another edition that stands out for its turquoise and carmine red colors. It is a limited edition of 888 pieces, with gold and silver engravings with Aztec glyphs.

For the third edition they were limited to 87 pieces and were inspired by the Templo Mayor. It has a hand-inlaid turquoise mosaic on the lid and the tip is gold.

Another edition was crafted with a solid gold top set with precious stones and diamonds. In addition, an eight-ray sun was engraved on the tip and other symbols are seen on the body of the pen. Of this edition, there are only 8 pieces, making it more exclusive.

With this collection there is no doubt about the majesty of Mexico at that time.
