Sunflower fields, a natural spectacle
Due to its cultural richness, the small city of Mocorito is called the Sinaloan Athens and its name means “place where the Mayans live”.
For several years, the sunflower field has been one of the most important events in the place. And on this occasion, the opening was in charge of the municipal authorities. As well as the head of the Ministry of Tourism (SECTUR) of the state of Sinaloa, Óscar Pérez Barros.
“It is a true blessing and a wonderful ecotourism experience that we have started in our administration and that we want to consolidate as a heritage in all aspects, because we know the positive impact that it means, not only for Mocorito but for the entire state of Sinaloa,” said Guillermo. Galindo Castro, mayor of the municipality of Mocorito.
For the benefit of Mocorito
In addition, the fields not only adorn the state, but reactivate the economy with the arrival of tourists who come to witness and enjoy nature.
This year, the field will be open for two weeks and the cost will be a voluntary fee. So you can enjoy the show and help with your cooperation to maintain the field.
It is hoped that in the future this time will be consolidated and recognized as an experience as a part of the heritage of Sinaloa. Thus, the field of sunflowers is a privileged phenomenon. But it is also a way of innovating in the way of directly benefiting citizens.
