What to do and how to get to the Sótano del Barro?
First you will take federal highway number 29, from Jalpan to Río Verde, turn off at kilometer 24 and cross 11 kilometers of dirt road. From the community of Puerto de Ayutla to Santa María de Cocos.
From this point you will walk about 7 kilometers (about two hours) through the forest, the locals can tell you how to get there. But we consider it essential that you look for a local guide. They know the roads like the back of their hand.
